Hafnium Micron Powder

Hafnium Micron Powder

Hafnium Micron has great importance due to its applications. It is one of the chemical elements that is found in less abundance in the Earth's crust, its symbol is Hf, its atomic number is 72 and its atomic weight is 178.49u. It is a lustrous silver-colored metal and its chemistry is very similar to that of zirconium. It was discovered in Copenhagen by Dirk Coster and George Hevesy in 1923 and its name corresponds to the meaning of Copenhagen in Latin which is Hafnia. Like zirconium, it is known as a transition metal and has five natural isotopes. It is a corrosion-resistant metal. It is used in tungsten alloys for making filaments and electrodes. Another of its uses is in the elaboration of control bars used in nuclear reactors since it has the capacity to absorb neutrons. In recent times, Hafnium Micron Powder has been used in the construction of transistors for processors of the computer equipment of the Intel brand.
