Holmium Micron Powder

Holmium Micron Powder has important applications. The holmium is an inner transition element belonging to the group of lanthanides or rare-earth. It is a shiny silvery-white metal, it is relatively soft and flexible. The discovery of holmium started with the Swiss chemists Delafontaine and Soret, when they observed different spectra in the absorption band of other metals. Holmium is a relatively stable metal when exposed to atmospheric air, as long as the air is dry and the temperature is 25 °C. The uses of holmium are quite peculiar. Salts and other holmium compounds are used in the manufacture of special glasses, ceramics, grenade doping for the manufacture of lasers, catalysts in the production of fuels and organic syntheses. The mixture between phosphorus compounds, metal halides, and holmium halides are used in the manufacture of special lamps and television tubes. Holmium is also added in alloys for the manufacture of super magnets, due to its extraordinary characteristic of providing superior magnetic fields than the existing ones.
