Nickel Based Alloy Micron Powder

Inconel 718, Size: 45-106 µm, Spherical

Inconel 718 is a high‑strength, corrosion‑resistant nickel‑chromium alloy designed for use across a wide temperature range, from cryogenic to high‑temperature applications. Supplied as spherical micron powder (45-106 µm), it offers excellent processability, age‑hardening capability, and outstanding weldability with resistance to post‑weld cracking. With superior tensile, fatigue, creep, and rupture strength, Inconel 718 powder is widely used in aerospace, energy, and additive manufacturing (3D printing) applications where durability, precision, and performance are critical.

Precautions

  1. Please weld strictly according to the oxygen-acetylene flame or plasma spray welding application requirement.
  2. The use of -150 mesh powder is advisable when using small and medium-sized spray welding guns. It is advisable to use -150/+320 mesh powder when using large spray guns.
  3. If the alloy powder absorbs moisture or has a storage period of more than 3 months, it should be dried before use (120 ° C, 2 hours).
  4. Readily combustible metal powder. This material also has general toxic and irritating effects.
  5. Maximum allowable day concentration is 0.001 mg/m3. Explosion-safe.
  6. Nuisance dust. If inhaled, may cause headache, elevated body temperature, vertigo and weakness.

Applications

  • Liquid-Fueled Rocket Components: Inconel 718 powder is widely used in rocket engines due to its exceptional strength and oxidation resistance at extreme temperatures, ensuring reliability in demanding propulsion systems.
  • Aircraft Rings, Casings, and Sheet Metal Parts: The alloy’s high fatigue and creep resistance make it ideal for structural aircraft components such as rings, casings, and formed sheet metal parts, where durability and lightweight performance are critical.
  • Land-Based Gas Turbine Engines: Its ability to withstand prolonged high-temperature exposure supports efficient and long-lasting turbine operation in power generation applications.
  • Cryogenic Tankage: Inconel 718 maintains toughness and stability even at cryogenic temperatures, making it suitable for storage tanks and systems operating under extreme cold conditions.
  • Fasteners and Instrumentation Parts: The alloy’s combination of strength, corrosion resistance, and machinability ensures reliable performance in precision fasteners and instrumentation components across aerospace and industrial sectors.
