Praseodymium Oxide (Pr6O11) Powder
Praseodymium oxide (Pr6O11) is the most stable praseodymium oxide at ambient temperature and pressure. The crystal structure of this material is a cubic fluorite structure. Pr6O11 powder isinsoluble in water.Praseodymium oxide provides interesting optical properties and exceptionally high electrical conductivity. It also provides good mechanical properties with a melting point of approximately 2200°C. Praseodymium oxide powder has been studied widely for potential technological applications in organic light-emitting diode as phosphors, materials with higher electrical conductivity as semiconducting oxide, ceramic pigments, non-volatile ferroelectric random access memory (Nv-FRAM) devices, and oxygen-storage components. Pr6O11 is also used in catalytic applications as catalyst supporter, stabilizer in combustion reactions, and catalyst in oxidative coupling of methane, isopropanol decomposition, and several other organic reactions. The high electrical conductivity of Pr6O11 is found to be useful in high sensitivity/selectivity gas sensors for hydrocarbon sensing applications.
